Barefoot Massage

Barefoot Message is a deep tissue technique applied with the soles of the feet. The therapist uses parallel overhead bars for support. Gravity allows for a deeper than deep tissue massage. This technique can be applied to both back and the front of the body as well as the neck and shoulders.
Kristin Tri
Barefoor Massage Specialist
During your Barefoot Massage session, Kristin uses both 1 and 2 feet to apply the deepest pressure as well as range of motion/stretching & upon request side-lying massage getting to muscles that just can’t be reached lying on your stomach/back. With these more advanced techniques your participation is sometimes required and not always a typical relaxation massage. This level of massage is for but not limited to the client who wants to reduce or eliminate a nagging problem, stay on track for their training regimen and recover faster OR clients with stubborn chronic pain and injury.

Important information regarding health insurance billing for massage therapy:
Insurance billing is a courtesy we are glad to provide for your convenience. However, it’s important that you are aware of your own benefits, treatment limits, deductibles and copays. We do our best to stay up to date on your individual benefits, but it is important to remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own coverage.
Every insurance plan is different, so it’s important to know your own benefits. Benefits for each plan might change each year, so be sure to review your benefits often. Some plans and insurance providers cover massage therapy, and some do not. You can find the details of your own plan’s benefits through your insurance provider’s customer service department.
We work on a contract with a wonderful local insurance biller who helps keep us on track and submits our claims. She is, however, an outside contractor, not a Solstice employee. We work with her based on our contract agreement.
⁃ We are an “in network” provider with Aetna and Premera/BCBS. We have specific contracts with those health insurance providers, where we are able to bill massage therapy at $200 per hour, or $50 per 15-minute unit. Co-pays that are based on a percentage such as 20% will be calculated based on the $200 per hour session. This also means as a client you will be responsible for paying $200 per 1-hour session upfront until we receive notification that your specific deductible amount has been met. (Often only a majority of your payment counts toward your deductible to the full $200. This amount also varies per insurance plan.)
Reimbursement for service is normally processed in 3-6 weeks. If your insurance provider denies your claim, you will be responsible for paying the full amount of $200. Please know that we and our professional biller do our best to ensure that your claims are billed in a timely manner. We will take the time to try and resubmit claims that have been denied if possible however if denials happen we do need the client to take care of their outstanding balances promptly and we will have to discontinue billing service if more then 3 appointments have gone unpaid.
We do need to update referrals from primary care providers and health intakes annually for every client. Please be mindful of the online intake form if you receive an email and communicate with your PCP to update your referral as soon as possible to avoid lapse in treatment here at SBW.
Gratuity is NEVER expected but always a welcome blessing. Please keep in mind if you choose to leave a tip for your therapist, $20 per hour of treatment time is a good rule of thumb. We are so grateful for our wonderful clients, regardless of the amount you choose to tip.
